SaveToDB Installing and Uninstalling

SaveToDB Installing and Uninstalling

Installing

To install the SaveToDB add-in:

  • Download and unzip the SaveToDB setup package to a local folder.
  • Close Microsoft Excel.
  • Run setup.exe.

If this is your first time installing the SaveToDB add-in, make sure to run setup.exe, not savetodb.msi.

SaveToDB requires the following pre-installed Microsoft components:

  • Microsoft .NET Framework 4.7.2 or higher
  • Visual Studio 2010 Tools for Office Runtime

If these components are missing, you'll be prompted to download and install them from the Microsoft website. This may require an additional download of about 100MB.

Updating

To update the SaveToDB add-in, simply install the newer version.

Alternatively, you can uninstall the existing version first and then perform a clean installation.

Uninstalling

To uninstall the SaveToDB add-in:

  • Close Microsoft Excel.
  • Open Control Panel.
  • Navigate to Programs and Features.
  • Select SaveToDB and click the Uninstall button.

Upgrading

It's recommended to uninstall SaveToDB version 1-7 before installing version 8 or higher.

The new versions allow you to activate a new trial period of 30 days.

After the trial, you can either purchase an upgrade to register the new major version or uninstall it and revert to the previous version. If the previous major version was registered, you can continue using it without any additional steps.

Troubleshooting

If you installed the SaveToDB add-in for the first time using savetodb.msi instead of setup.exe, uninstall the add-in and reinstall it using setup.exe.
