Understanding Parameter Name Conventions in SQL

Stored procedures and SQL commands that save changes or handle events can retrieve values from data table columns.

For instance, the @date parameter corresponds to the date column value, while @account_id retrieves the account_id value, and so on.

If a source column name contains unsupported characters for parameter names, you can escape those characters in the parameter names.

For example, to access the "account name" column value, use the @account_x0020_name parameter name.

To generate a proper parameter name for any underlying column name, use the following SQL Server function:
